As we move toward a more sustainable future, many automakers have introduced electric vehicles to their lineups. Lincoln recently debuted the Lincoln Star Concept — the brand’s vision for its electric future.
This inspiring new concept vehicle has a striking appearance, inside and out, and features next-gen connected technologies. The exterior is a new take on the Quiet Flight DNA of Lincoln and includes features like rear-hinged doors and a front trunk that offers up a ton of storage.
Inside, the Lincoln Star Concept is absolutely exquisite. The rear seating area resembles a VIP lounge with reclined seats, leg rests, a glass beverage chiller, and three “rejuvenation moods.” These preset moods — Coastal Morning, Mindful Vitality, and Evening Chill — are part of the Lincoln Embrace system and adjust the lighting, scenting, and audio within the cabin.
Of course, as an electric vehicle, the Lincoln Star Concept is expected to be efficient and environmentally friendly. Because it is a concept, it has not undergone road testing for fuel economy numbers, but it was built with the brand’s rear- and all-wheel-drive flexible battery electric architecture.
While this exact model won’t be arriving on our lot, our team at Downtown Lincoln is excited to see how the future of the Lincoln brand is shifting.
“We are at a defining moment in our history. We look back at Lincoln’s past and find inspiration for the future and, to reflect on what we have accomplished — maintaining a balance between the brand’s core values and redefining our vehicle and experiences for the next generation of luxury clients,” said Lincoln president Joy Falotico. “The timing of our 100th anniversary couldn’t be more ideal as we shift to an electrified future, and I look forward to shepherding the brand into the next 100 years.”
The MKZ Hybrid was the first hybrid vehicle launched by Lincoln in 2010. The current lineup of plug-in hybrid vehicles includes the Aviator Grand Touring and Corsair Grand Touring models. Other ways that Lincoln has shown off its innovation is with the Navigator, which debuted with the all-new 30-way Perfect Position Seats. The newest version of the Navigator, set to be launched this year, arrives with even more exciting amenities, including ActiveGlide hands-free driver-assist technology.
We’re excited to see the Lincoln brand continue to build on its history and create vehicles that inspire us daily. To learn more about the Lincoln PHEV lineup, contact our team at Downtown Lincoln in Toronto, Ontario.
The new Jet Appearance Package takes the exterior of the Lincoln Aviator and elevates it with sleek black accents. In the front, the Lincoln grille and lower fascia are both blacked out. This new package also adds black-painted 22-inch wheels to the Lincoln Aviator.
Lincoln took note of the popularity of the Monochromatic Reserve Package, which added chrome accents to the vehicle, and wanted to offer even more customization to owners. “Jet Package offers a clean, dramatic look that accentuates the presence of Aviator on the road,” said Earl Lucas, Lincoln exterior chief designer. “The black accents emphasize the strong lines and sleek look of the exterior design.”
If you’re not a fan of the all-black look, worry not. While the Jet Appearance Package offers Infinite Black paint, you can also choose from three other appealing colours: Pristine White, Silver Radiance, and Burgundy Velvet.

One of the most notable new features is the Lincoln ActiveGlide hands-free driver-assist technology that works in more than 130,000 miles’ worth of Hands-Free Blue Zones in North America. The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is also equipped with the intuitive SYNC® 4 infotainment system that allows for wireless smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Additionally, drivers can interact with the Lincoln Navigator naturally by asking Amazon Alexa questions like, “Alexa, where is the closest gas station?”
Along with being incredibly advanced, the new Lincoln Navigator presents an even more stunning and thoughtful design for 2022. The updated signature grille and front end provide a more dynamic look while adaptive pixel projector headlamps have a new look that give the SUV a more modern aesthetic. Rounding out the elegant design of the Lincoln Navigator are new 3D taillamps that fade in and out as you enter or exit the vehicle.
The new Lincoln Navigator is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2022. Contact our team at Downtown Lincoln in Toronto, Ontario, for more details.
Lincoln has nearly 100 years of experience in the automotive industry, so it knows that change is inevitable and often the catalyst for exciting, beneficial updates. One update that Lincoln is committing to is an all-electric lineup of vehicles by the year 2030. The first fully electric Lincoln vehicle will debut next year, with many more to follow.
“As we accelerate Lincoln’s transformation in North America and China, there is no better time to propel the Lincoln brand forward with electrification,” said Joy Falotico, president of Lincoln. “Our world-class vehicles, effortless services, and advanced connected technology will allow us to create an always-on relationship with [our customers] and help transform the Lincoln brand for the future.”
Drawing inspiration from aviation, the concept of “Quiet Flight DNA” will continue with the models that Lincoln produces throughout the decade. A sampling of this was showcased at Auto Shanghai earlier this year when the Lincoln Zephyr Reflection concept debuted. The futuristic model featured a dynamic exterior design and an elegant interior to match.
Aligning with its electrified future, Lincoln will also update the Lincoln Way™ app to add even more personalized experiences within its all-electric vehicles. To learn more about this app or what’s to come with Lincoln in the future, contact our team at Downtown Lincoln in Toronto, Ontario.
When it comes to the three-row luxury crossover segment, the competition is heated. But one vehicle that has had no trouble maintaining its spot at the top is the Lincoln Aviator. Now, Kelley Blue Book Canada is backing that up by comparing the Lincoln Aviator to one of its top competitors: the Cadillac XT6.
The KBB Canada editors recognized the Lincoln Aviator as the better value between the two highly popular SUVs. Putting it ahead of the XT6 was its powerful engine options, greater towing capacity, and ample cargo space behind the third row.
To start, the Cadillac XT6 offers just 357 litres of space behind the third row while the Lincoln Aviator provides 519 litres. Going beyond room for your groceries and gear, the Lincoln Aviator can be equipped with a 400-horsepower 3.0-litre V6 under the hood. The XT6’s comparable 3.6-litre V6 gets a max of 310 horsepower. But going even further, the Lincoln Aviator’s hybrid powertrain — the aforementioned V6 paired with a nano electric motor — blows the XT6 out of the water with 494 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque.
As a result of all that power, the Lincoln Aviator is able to tow 2,540 kg with its PHEV powertrain and 3,039 kg with the standard V6. The Cadillac XT6 comes in at a max towing capacity of only 1,814 kg.
Here at Downtown Lincoln, you don’t have to take our word for it. The numbers clearly speak for themselves when you compare these two luxury SUVs: The Lincoln Aviator is superior to the Cadillac XT6. Visit us today to see even more reasons to choose the Lincoln Aviator as your new vehicle.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently announced that two Lincoln SUVs have earned TOP SAFETY PICK honors. The 2021 Lincoln Corsair earned this recognition for the third consecutive year, while the 2021 Lincoln Aviator won for the second year in a row.
To score the title of TOP SAFETY PICK, a vehicle must earn the highest rating of “Good” in six crashworthiness tests: driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. It also must receive the rating of “Advanced” or Superior” for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash prevention, along with an “Acceptable” headlight rating.
The 2021 Aviator earned a “Good” rating on its available Adaptive Pixel LED Headlamps, and almost earned an “Acceptable” on its standard LED headlights. Otherwise, the Aviator had top ratings across the IIHS testing.
The Corsair’s available jeweled LED headlights earned an “Acceptable” rating. Both vehicles also earned a “Superior” rating on their standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, while the version available with the Lincoln Co-Pilot™ 360 Plus suite earned an “Advanced” rating.
